ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID

Certificate Date Invalid

The SSL certificate has expired or its validity window hasn't started yet. This blocks the connection to protect against using old, potentially compromised certificates.

Why this happens

  • The site owner forgot to renew their SSL certificate
  • Auto-renewal (Let's Encrypt, certbot) failed due to DNS or server issues
  • Your system clock is set to a wrong date or time
  • The certificate was issued for future dates (rare)

How to fix it

  1. 1

Check your system date and time — if it's wrong, correct it and reload

  2. 2

The site owner needs to renew their certificate (usually free via Let's Encrypt)

  3. 3

Try the site again later — many sites auto-renew and it may recover within hours

  4. 4

Check the certificate's expiry using an SSL checker tool
