- The server is overloaded and not responding in time
- A firewall is silently dropping packets (not actively refusing)
- Your internet connection is very slow or dropping packets
- The server is behind a load balancer that's under pressure
- A proxy or CDN in the middle is experiencing issues

Try a different network — mobile data vs your home connection

Check for ISP packet loss using a ping test
